family wellness services

Our Family Wellness Services support families in building holistic well-being, strengthening relationships, and ensuring children’s safety and health. Service offerings are prevention-focused, culturally grounded, and designed to empower families to create self-directed wellness plans.

family wellness navigators

The Family Prevention Team consists of Family Wellness Navigators and a Relationship Navigator who work directly with families to support their wellness goals. Our Navigators take a strengths-based, culturally sensitive approach — meeting families where they are and providing the support they need. They also assist with referrals to additional services and help create personalized family plans that reflect each family’s unique needs. Navigators are also integral to the Men’s and Women’s Groups, providing spaces for individuals to connect, grow, and heal in community.

family circles: family-led decision making

The Family Circles program follows Indigenous traditions of collective decision-making, where families and communities come together to address challenges and create solutions. This voluntary, culturally-based process focuses on empowering families to lead their own decision-making and avoid reliance on the court system. Family Circles are used for a variety of purposes, including reunification, kinship care planning, emergency concerns, and supporting youth transitions. A neutral circle coordinator facilitates these meetings, ensuring balanced participation and guiding the family toward decisions that work best for them.

men’s & women’s groups

Our Men’s Group and Women’s Group provide safe, supportive spaces for personal healing and growth. The Men’s Group focuses on helping men address personal challenges through cultural teachings and healing practices, strengthening their connections to family and community. The Women’s Group creates a space for women to share experiences, build connections, and focus on wellness. Cultural and Language Team support is also offered for women’s children during group meetings, ensuring the whole family benefits from the program.

community events and prevention activities

SCFSS offers regular community events to support families, including Women’s Conferences, Women’s Retreats, and ongoing Men’s and Women’s Groups. These gatherings provide cultural enrichment, stress relief, and opportunities for personal growth. They also allow families to connect with Elders, build lasting relationships, and strengthen community bonds.

Through Family Circles, individual support, and group programs, we work together to help families thrive.
